Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a Science Graduate join one of our client schools in Glossop as a Teaching Assistant. This position will be full-time, starting in September at the start of the academic year.

The salary for this position will be £385 to £450 per week.

Our client school is currently looking for a recent science graduate to join their Science Department and a Teaching Assistant. This position would be ideal for a recent graduate, looking to start a career in education. The main responsibility of this position will be to work alongside smaller groups of children or on a 1 to 1 basis. The children you will be working with most closely will be struggling more than their peers and will need additional support.

Key responsibilities:

  • You must be fully aware of all safeguarding procedures, and deal with any situations that may occur.
  • You must ensure that the classroom is always a safe learning environment, especially during any practical experiments.
  • You must be able to build relationships with pupils to support them in their learning development.
  • You must be able to monitor the progression of pupils, giving feedback to the students, parents, and the teachers.

This school is located in Glossop, it is easy commutable to from the surrounding areas on public transport. The school currently has an Ofsted rating of 2, meaning that it is considered to be good. The proportion of their student population who are eligible for free school meals is currently directly in line with the national average. The percentage of children who do not speak English as their first language is 15% lower than the national average.
