Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Graduate to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Denton, Tameside, as a Teaching Assistant. This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain practical experience in an educational setting, supporting students and working closely with the Science department.

Role Overview: As a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic development of students across all year groups. Working alongside experienced teachers, you will assist in delivering engaging science lessons and provide additional support to students who require extra help to grasp complex scientific concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, ensuring that all students are actively engaged and making progress.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, particularly those who may find certain topics challenging.
  • Assist with the preparation of classroom materials, lab experiments, and other teaching resources.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to both students and teachers to inform future lessons and interventions.
  • Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging a passion for science among students.
  • Participate in school activities and contribute to the wider school community, supporting extracurricular science clubs or events where necessary.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a Science-related subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
  • A genuine interest in education and a strong desire to support student learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Previous experience working with young people, whether in a classroom setting, tutoring, or voluntary work, is advantageous but not essential.
