Key Responsibilities:

As a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students' learning within the Science department. Working alongside teachers, you will provide assistance in various aspects of the classroom environment, helping students achieve their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting Science lessons across subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • Providing targeted assistance to students who may need extra help with understanding complex scientific concepts
  • Working one-on-one or in small groups with students to boost their confidence and academic performance
  • Assisting with the preparation of classroom resources, practical experiments, and learning materials
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour and maintain a focused, engaging learning environment
  • Supporting the teacher with marking, assessment, and feedback on student progress
  • Encouraging students to develop a passion for Science and helping them with revision and exam preparation
  • Assisting with extracurricular activities or Science-related clubs, where relevant

What We're Looking For:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in a Science-related subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or similar)
  • A genuine interest in education and helping young people succeed
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and inspire students
  • A proactive, patient, and adaptable approach to working with students of different abilities
  • Previous experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting, is desirable but not essential
