Science Graduate Teaching Assistant - Full-Time in Levenshulme

Teaching Personnel is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Science Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time role starts in October and runs until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the position to become permanent based on performance. The pay for this role is between £419.25 and £500 per week.

Role Overview:

As a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the Science department to support students' learning across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a recent Science graduate who is passionate about their subject and considering a future career in teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students to help them understand complex scientific concepts
• Support students with varying levels of ability, including those who may require extra help in understanding coursework or preparing for exams
• Assist with practical Science lessons, helping students with experiments and ensuring health and safety standards are met
• Provide targeted intervention sessions for students who may be falling behind or need additional support in the lead-up to their GCSE exams
• Work collaboratively with Science teachers to track and monitor student progress, providing feedback on individual performance
• Contribute to the creation of engaging and interactive learning resources
• Support teachers with marking, lesson planning, and preparing classroom materials
• Help to manage student behaviour in the classroom, ensuring a positive learning environment
• Assist with extra-curricular Science activities or clubs, contributing to the wider school community

Candidate Requirements:

• A degree in a Science-related field (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or similar) is essential
• A genuine interest in supporting young people's learning and progress in Science
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain scientific concepts in a clear and accessible way
• A proactive and patient approach to working with students of varying abilities
• Experience working with young people, either in a school or other setting, is desirable but not essential
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
