Teaching Personnel is delighted to be working closely with a supportive secondary school in the Gosport area that is currently seeking a dynamic and passionate Science Teacher to join their dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire and educate students across Key Stages 3 and 4, contributing to their academic success and fostering a love for science.

 

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across the science curriculum and will create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of all students, ensuring they develop a solid understanding of scientific concepts and principles. The role involves both classroom teaching and practical lab work, providing students with hands-on experience to deepen their learning.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering Lessons: Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum and the school's educational goals.

  • Student Assessment: Regularly assess and monitor student's progress through a variety of assessment methods, including exams, coursework, and practical assignments. Provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth.

  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment that encourages student participation and respect. Effectively manage student behaviour in line with school policies.

  • Resource Development: Create and utilize a variety of teaching resources, including interactive presentations, lab experiments, and multimedia content, to enhance the learning experience.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in the Science Department to develop schemes of work, share best practices, and contribute to departmental planning. Participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities.

  • Parental Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about student progress, achievements, and any concerns. Attend parent-teacher meetings and contribute to reports as required.

  • Extracurricular Involvement: Support the school's extracurricular activities, including science clubs, field trips, and other initiatives that promote science education beyond the classroom.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Science at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge.
