A secondary school in Fareham are seeking a dedicated and innovative Science Teacher to join their team from September, helping to achieve their vision of providing a curriculum that develops inquisitive, independent thinkers with a lifelong love for learning.

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), be committed to delivering engaging and challenging lessons, and have a passion for inspiring curiosity and a thirst for knowledge in their students.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Encourage critical thinking and scientific inquiry through engaging, hands-on experiments and activities.
  • Assess, monitor, and provide feedback on student progress, ensuring that every student achieves their potential.
  • Create a positive, stimulating classroom environment that promotes independent learning and fosters a love of science.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to enhance the science curriculum and share best practices.
  • Engage with students of all abilities, offering support and enrichment opportunities to cater to individual needs.
  • Maintain high expectations for behavior and academic achievement in line with the school's ethos.

 

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification in Science.
  • A passion for science and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching young people.
  • The ability to deliver engaging and well-structured lessons that inspire curiosity and a love for science.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong classroom management skills, with a focus on creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Enhanced Child Only DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • School-based references from recent employers.
