An Ofsted-rated GOOD secondary school in Kingston upon Thames is seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of Science to join their permanent staff team starting in January 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic educator to contribute to the continued success and development of our science department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that cater to the needs of all students.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Contribute to the development of the science curriculum, ensuring it remains current and stimulating.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and enrichment programs related to science.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the department to share best practices and support each other’s professional development.
  • Maintain a safe and positive learning environment, promoting good behavior and effective learning.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a strong academic background in a science-related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching science at the secondary level, with a track record of successful student outcomes.
  • Strong subject knowledge in biology, chemistry, or physics, with the ability to teach across multiple disciplines.
  • Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for science education.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan effectively and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the wider school community.
