A well-established and Ofsted-rated GOOD secondary school in Hammersmith is seeking a dynamic and passionate Teacher of Science to join their permanent teaching staff starting in January 2025. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners, in line with the national curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and reports to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Contribute to the development of the Science department, including participating in curriculum development and enrichment activities.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in a Science-related subject.
  • Experience teaching Science at secondary school level, ideally across a range of key stages.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics.
  • A commitment to fostering a love of learning and scientific inquiry in students.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
  • A collaborative approach to teaching and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
  • A passion for continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with educational best practices.

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching A-Level Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) or willingness to teach at Key Stage 5.
  • Familiarity with current educational initiatives and curriculum developments in Science.
