A well-established and Ofsted-rated "GOOD" secondary school in Bristol is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Science to join their permanent staff from January 2025. Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students with engaging and creative lessons that promote a love for learning and scientific exploration. You will be joining a collaborative department that prides itself on academic achievement and student engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum for Science
  • Plan, prepare, and assess students’ work to ensure progress
  • Engage and motivate students with innovative teaching approaches
  • Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities
  • Work effectively as part of the Science department, sharing ideas and resources
  • Provide pastoral support and promote the school’s ethos of inclusivity and respect

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A degree in Science or a related subject
  • Proven experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (experience at Key Stage 5 is desirable but not essential)
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment
  • A commitment to professional development and maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge
  • A genuine passion for education and inspiring students to achieve their full potential
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
