Science Technician needed for a Secondary School in Winchester!

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons
  • Assist teachers with practical demonstrations and experiments
  • Ensure the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and other hazardous materials
  • Maintain a clean and organised laboratory environment
  • Manage and order laboratory supplies and resources
  • Support the science department in delivering high-quality education
  • Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures
  • Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions

Requirements:

  • Enthusiasm and good organisational skills
  • Flexible approach to work and ability to work to deadlines
  • Previous experience in a science-based occupation or a science qualification (particularly in Chemistry or Physics) would be beneficial
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Willingness to undergo training and pursue an advanced Apprenticeship in Laboratory Technician L3
