Science teacher (ideally with Physics specialism) required in Bermondsey!

A top-rated secondary school in Bermondsey is searching for an experienced and passionate General Science teacher to join their team on a long-term, full-time temporary contract starting on September 2nd. The successful candidate will be paid on the Inner London scale and will have the opportunity to work with a well-behaved student body and a highly experienced and professional team in the Science department.

Length of contract: 1 year temporary or fixed term contract (possible permanent opportunity for the right person)

Salary: MPS - UPS for Inner London

The timetable will be manageable, including plenty of PPA time and teaching classes for students aged 11-16 with mixed ability levels.

As a General Science teacher, you will be responsible for:
• Delivering engaging and effective lessons in Biology and Chemistry at Key stages 3-4 and KS5 Physics.
• Assessing and monitoring student progress
• Collaborating with other teachers and department members
• Participating in department meetings and professional development opportunities
• Supporting and advising students and parents

To be considered for this position, you must have:
• A degree in Science or related field
• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
• A proven track record of teaching General Science and Physics
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• A passion for teaching and a desire to inspire students
• A valid DBS check or be willing to obtain one
