Role Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Secondary SEN Tutor to join our team in Oxford. You will work one-on-one with secondary school students who have various learning needs, including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and other SEN conditions. The ideal candidate will be skilled in adapting their teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of each student, fostering both academic success and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored tutoring sessions for secondary-aged students with SEN, focusing on core subjects such as Maths, English, and Science.
  • Use a variety of teaching techniques to suit individual learning styles and needs.
  • Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adjusting strategies to maximize outcomes.
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other professionals to develop and maintain individualized learning plans.
  • Encourage students to build confidence, resilience, and independent learning skills.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that nurtures student potential.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with secondary school students with SEN in a teaching, tutoring, or support role.
  • Knowledge of SEN conditions and effective teaching strategies for students at the secondary level.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • A positive, patient, and adaptable approach to tutoring.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, SEN, or related fields are desirable but not essential.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
