Teaching Personnel is delighted to offer a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialised SEMH school in Bournemouth.

We are looking for Teaching Assistants to join us from September on a full time basis. This will start as a temporary role through our trusted recruitment partner and will become a permanent role. 

About the School:

We are a specialised SEMH school providing tailored support to students with diverse needs. We aim to provide our secondary aged pupils with a nurturing and inclusive environment focused on holistic development. Our team of dedicated staff are committed to empowering students and fostering a positive learning experience. 

All of our pupils have been excluded from maintsteam school and are aged 11-16 years old. We provide a GCSE curriculum for those able to study up to this level. Our small class sizes enable additional support to help pupils reach their full potential. 

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with Social, emotional and mental health needs
• Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies
• Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to meet the needs of students effectively

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable
• You MUST have a visa to work in the UK (we are not able to offer sponsorship)
• Strong understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning and behavior
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students with diverse needs
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
