Are you passionate about supporting students in their educational journey? We are seeking enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistants to join our team, working across a variety of secondary schools in Cornwall!

About the Role:

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to teachers and students in a range of secondary school settings. You will work alongside teachers in the classroom, helping students with their learning, offering one-on-one support, and assisting with classroom management. This role is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in education or those with a passion for helping students succeed.

We offer both full-time and part-time roles, allowing you to work flexibly across schools in Cornwall.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who may need extra help
  • Help maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as lesson preparation and resource management
  • Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with SEND
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning atmosphere

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with secondary school-aged students is beneficial
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Adaptability and a proactive approach to supporting learning
  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)

Desirable:

  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • An understanding of safeguarding procedures in schools
