Are you considering a new teaching role for the new academic year? Do you have experience working with children who are socially and emotionally vulnerable?

Teaching Personnel are working with a nurturing SEMH school in Portsmouth who are looking for an SEMH Teacher to start in September.

About the role:

  • Secondary School, catering for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
  • September start
  • Full time
  • Working hours are 08:30 - 15.30

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the atmosphere of the class and its physical surrounding to engage and inspire pupils. 
  • Planning and delivering lessons appropriately
  • Maintaining clear records and tracking of pupil progress
  • Providing tailored work for pupils with varied ability levels
  • Effectively communicating with colleagues and parents
  • Implemeting positive behaviour management strategies which are aligned with the procedures of the school

Essential:

  • Must be QTS qualified or equivalent
  • Previous experience working within an SEN or SEMH setting is desirable
  • Self-motivated and resilient
  • Able to build meaningful and positive relationships with the staff and students alike
  • Capacity to deliver the curriculum in a creative and engaging manner

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
