We are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEMH / PRU Teacher to join one of our partner schools in Bolton and make a real difference.
Job Description:
As an SEMH / PRU Teacher, you will:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEMH.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters emotional well-being and academic growth.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) in collaboration with the wider team.
- Employ a variety of teaching strategies and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and reports to students, parents, and colleagues.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- Foster strong relationships with students, encouraging resilience, self-esteem, and positive behavior.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs, ideally within a PRU or similar setting.
- Strong understanding of SEMH issues and strategies to support students with these needs.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging behaviors.
- Compassionate, patient, and resilient, with a genuine commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable students.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
Desirable:
- Additional qualifications or training in SEMH, special education, or related areas.
- Experience in developing and implementing EHCPs
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in SEN education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
