An esteemed SEMH school group, renowned for its commitment to providing exceptional educational support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join their permanent staff list. This opportunity is available at their independent special school located in Stockton-On-Tees, starting from September 2024.

Role Overview: The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education tailored to the individual needs of students with SEMH challenges. The role involves fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, implementing bespoke teaching strategies, and contributing to the holistic development of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that address the diverse needs of students with SEMH difficulties.
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
  • Create a positive and nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes emotional and social growth.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to support student development and address concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to regular reviews.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in Education or a related field.
  • Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in a special school or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH challenges and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for making a difference in students' lives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to the dynamic needs of the students.
