Working alongside an APC school in Littlehampton, we believe in nurturing the potential of every child, regardless of their background or circumstances. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join us in supporting students with SEMH needs on their educational journey.

Role Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, assisting them in accessing the curriculum and achieving their academic goals.

Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.

Collaborate with teachers, counsellors, and other staff members to develop and implement personalized strategies and interventions to meet the unique needs of each student.

Serve as a positive role model and mentor, helping students develop essential social and emotional skills such as self-regulation, communication, and problem-solving.

Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and caregivers to facilitate ongoing growth and development.

Qualifications:

Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs preferred but not required.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Patience, empathy, and resilience in the face of challenging behaviours or situations.

Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and the school community.

A commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of special education and mental health support.

Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Hours: Mon - Fri (8:30am - 3:30pm)

Location: Littlehampton

Pay: £385.00 - £450.00 (dependent on experience).
