Location: Nelson, Lancashire

Salary: From £90 daily, 6.5 hour working day

Job Type: Full-Time, term-time only

Job Description:

Are you passionate about supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs? Do you have the skills and dedication to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment? If so, we invite you to join our team in Nelson as an SEMH Teaching Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
• Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans tailored to each student's needs.
• Collaborate with teachers to modify and adapt classroom activities and materials to support the SEMH needs of students.
• Monitor and track students' progress, providing regular updates to teachers and parents.
• Implement behaviour management strategies to support positive behaviour and social interactions among students.
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
• Promote emotional well-being and resilience in students through targeted interventions and support.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience working with children with social, emotional, and mental health needs in an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of SEMH best practices and inclusive education strategies.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
