Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have experience working in educational settings and a desire to make a positive impact on young people’s lives? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a SEMH Teaching Assistant at a reputable secondary school in the vibrant city of Manchester.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education plans for students.
  • Support students in managing their emotions and behavior effectively.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff members to ensure the holistic development of students.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with young people with SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when dealing with challenging situations.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional well-being of students.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant teaching assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred.
