Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant.

Location: Preston.

Start date: September 2024.

Contract type: Full time, Monday-Friday, 8:30-3:30.

Pay rate: £12.90 - £15.00 p/h.

A provision in the Preston area is looking to recruit specialist teaching assistants to support their pupils who struggle with their social, emotional and mental health needs. The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Working as part of a close team and understand the need to set high standards of practice.
  • Build professional relationships with the children and young people.
  • Play a crucial role in supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of students.
  • Provide guidance, encouragement, and personalised support to students facing challenges.
  • Contribute to creating a nurturing and empowering environment that promotes the overall well-being of our students.

Requirements to be successful for the role:

  • Experience supporting students with SEMH in a professional or personal experience.
  • Able to implement behaviour strategies confidently.
  • Background of youth work, support work or any other experience of mentoring children and young adults.
  • Emotional and physical resilience to meet the challenges and demands of the role.
