Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a committed and skilled individual to join our dedicated team in Chorley on a permanent basis.

About the Role: As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students with challenging behavior. Your focus will be on both academic and extra-curricular activities, ensuring that each student receives the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed in all aspects of school life. This role requires someone who is resilient, compassionate, and capable of building strong, trusting relationships with young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs
  • Assisting teachers in delivering lessons that are accessible and engaging for all students
  • Implementing strategies to manage and support challenging behavior effectively
  • Supporting students during extra-curricular activities, promoting social development and confidence
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create individualized support plans
