We are looking for a committed and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our alternative provision in Darwen on a permanent basis. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students aged 11-16 with SEMH needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment
  • Assisting with both academic and emotional development on a one-to-one or small group basis
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
  • Working closely with the teaching team to implement tailored support strategies

  • Experience working with young people with SEMH needs or in a similar setting
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students
  • A proactive team player who is committed to making a positive impact
