Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are currently seeking a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a secondary school student who requires additional support in the classroom. This is a vital role in ensuring that the student can access their learning in a meaningful way and make progress throughout the school year.

The Role
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a student with complex needs, including autism or other learning difficulties.
  • Work with teachers and the SENCO to implement strategies that help the student engage in lessons and access the curriculum.
  • Use a range of communication methods to support learning and social interactions.
  • Offer pastoral support and encourage positive behaviour management.
  • Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of the individual student.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a one-to-one capacity.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • A passion for making a positive impact on a child’s educational experience.
  • Experience in adapting the curriculum for individual learning needs.
