Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a Psychology Graduate to join our client school’s SEN department as a SEN department. This will be a full-time position, due to begin in September at the start of the academic year.

The salary for this position will be between £420 to £450 per week.

This position is hugely important. The successful candidate will be responsible for working alongside pupils who require additional learning support. Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) are central to this position. You will be responsible for working with small groups of pupils or on a 1:1 basis to target the learning needs of these pupils. The students you will be working with closely will have special needs such as autism, ADHD or other learning difficulties such as dyslexia.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working on a 1:1 basis or in small groups of pupils to target the learning needs of students who require additional SEN support.
  • Reporting to the SENCO and giving any feedback about the students that you will be working with.
  • Monitoring the progress of pupils and being able to give timely feedback to the pupils themselves, parents, and other members of the departments.
  • You must be able to control the behaviour of the pupils to create a positive working environment.
  • You must be aware of all safeguarding procedures; you must be prepared to deal with any situation that may arise.

For this position, it is essential that you a psychology graduate who is interested in starting a career in education, particularly supporting students with special needs. You must be willing to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check and you must be able to provide at least two employment-based references.
