You will be teaching one of their older classes (Years 4-6), consisting of 8 pupils who are generally Pathway 2 learners. These students have speech, language, and communication needs and/or ASD. They are concrete thinkers and subject-based learners, working at cognitive levels between 2 to 5 years, pre-Key Stage Standard 2 through to 4. About the Class:
The class is composed of students who typically join them during their junior period of primary education, often after a period of instability in their education. These children have good cognitive potential for learning but require a highly personalized approach to their personal and social education, which is their main barrier to achieving. Their curriculum helps them focus on and understand their emotional needs, see and understand life from the perspective of others, and develop self-esteem and a positive attitude to learning.
Application Process:
If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and believe you have the skills and dedication to thrive in this role, we would love to hear from you.
