£10.77 per hour – Monday to Friday – 8.30am- 3.30pm – SEN School – Supporting learners aged 3-19

Requirements:

Enhanced DBS Certificate registered with the Update Service

Registration with the Education Workforce Council

Level 2 Safeguarding Qualification – FREE Upon Application

Provide 2 References

A 3-19 SEN school in Bridgend are looking for SEN Classroom Assistant to join their expanding team!

The school require an SEN Classroom Assistant to have experience with additional needs, either personal or working experience; this does not have to be direct school based experience, the school are happy to consider applications from care, childcare, or other education provisions.

The school supports learners with a variety of different additional needs, providing them with a specialist learning facility with dedicated staff. SEN Classroom assistants must be enthusiastic and keen to learn, the school requires staff who are proactive during lessons and able to adapt their support to suit each individual.

*Perm contracts available to those who impress*

Preferable Training:

• PEG Feeding
• Manual Handling
• PBM Training
• PECS/ Makaton/ BSL Training
• Behaviour Management

Role: Support Teaching and Learning with an SEN school

• Help students with understand and support the delivering of the alternative curriculum
• Manage behaviour and reduce challenging behaviour.
• Help with classroom upkeep and maintaining a calm learning environment.
• Support students with personal care, feeding, socialising.
• Work with a variety of additional needs i.e., Autism, Speech and Communication Needs and Sensory Impairments.
• Work 1:1 with pupils and in small groups.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
