An esteemed independent special school in Potterspury, Northamptonshire is seeking a passionate and fully qualified English Teacher to join their permanent staff list from September 2024.

Role Requirements:

• Qualifications: A recognized teaching qualification (QTS) with a specialization in English.
• Experience: Proven experience working within a special school or SEN (Special Educational Needs) setting, with an understanding of various learning disabilities and special needs.
• Skills: Outstanding classroom management skills, an empathetic and patient approach, and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the English curriculum and its application within an SEN context. Familiarity with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and the ability to create and implement them effectively.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
• Commitment: A strong passion for SEN education, with a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all students can excel.
• Professional Development: A dedication to ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices and emerging trends in SEN education.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons tailored to the individual needs and abilities of SEN students.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and adapting teaching strategies as necessary.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development and well-being.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and development.
• Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and development.
• Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and contribute to the wider school community.
