A highly reputable Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) School Group is seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join the permanent staff at their esteemed independent special school in Wisbech. This exciting opportunity is available from September 2024.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality English education to students with SEMH needs. This position requires a dynamic and adaptable individual who can create an engaging and supportive learning environment, fostering both academic and personal growth in students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to the needs of SEMH students.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other staff and specialists.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, independence, and self-confidence.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the school's ethos and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching English, preferably within an SEMH or special education setting.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by SEMH students and strategies to support their learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a positive attitude towards change and development.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Additional qualifications or training related to SEMH or special education.
  • Experience in developing and delivering personalized learning plans.
  • Creativity in lesson planning and a passion for literature and language.
