A highly reputable SEMH School Group is seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join the permanent staff of their esteemed independent, special school in Trowbridge. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed educator to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to students with SEMH needs.
  • Develop and implement engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to individual learning styles.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages academic and personal growth.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to ensure the holistic development of each student.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the school's community.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in teaching English, preferably within a special education or SEMH setting.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges and needs of students with SEMH.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Ability to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and the ethos of the school.

Desirable:

  • Additional qualifications or training in special education or SEMH.
  • Experience in using restorative practices and therapeutic approaches in education.
