SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant New

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). The successful candidate will be supporting a schools in Harrogate as a specialist TA and covering lessons when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the educational and social development of pupils with SEN.
• Deliver structured interventions and support programs.
• Work alongside teachers to plan and prepare differentiated learning materials.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCO.
• Support students with their personal care and mobility needs, if necessary.
• Facilitate small group and one-to-one sessions to support learning and development.
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Liaise with parents, caregivers, and external agencies as required.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualifications such as a Level 4 Certificate for Higher Level Teaching Assistants or equivalent.
• Experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of SEN practices, strategies, and legislation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.

Desirable:

• Experience with specific SEN conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, etc.
• Training in particular intervention programs or strategies.
• First Aid certification.
• Team Teach Trained
