Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a nurturing school in Ashburton. This is a full-time position, working with students who have experienced trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and exhibit Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school staff collaborates to create a safe and supportive environment that addresses the holistic needs of students with complex life stories.

  • Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
  • Location: Ashburton
  • Pay: £84.50 - £91.00 per day (depending on experience)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
  • Supporting students with SEMH needs by providing tailored 1:1 and group interventions to help them engage in their learning and personal development.
  • Collaborating with teachers and support staff to implement strategies that address the individual needs of students who have faced trauma and adversity.
  • Creating a safe, inclusive classroom environment to help students develop resilience, confidence, and positive social interactions.
  • Working alongside the pastoral and SEN team to promote emotional well-being, offering students reflective spaces and calm areas when needed.
  • Contributing to the creation of an educational setting that is sensitive to the needs of students with challenging and complex backgrounds.
