Role Overview:

We are seeking a committed SEN Learning Support Assistant to work full-time at an 11-16 special school in Tiverton. In this role, you will support students in years 7-11 who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), with a particular focus on those with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and related Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and small group support to students with ASC and SEMH needs to help them access the curriculum effectively.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and EHCPs to meet each student's specific needs.
  • Support students with daily classroom activities, ensuring they are engaged and making progress.
  • Help develop and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that caters to students' diverse needs.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the development of tailored educational strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students’ social, emotional, and educational development.
