About the Role: We are currently seeking a full-time SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a specialist school in Dawlish. This school, which has an outstanding residential provision, caters for over 200 students aged 3-19. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping these young learners reach their full potential both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with communication and interaction difficulties, autism, and other learning needs
  • Assist teachers in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Build positive relationships with students to encourage their confidence and independence
  • Help to implement individual learning plans and deliver one-on-one or group support
  • Support students in developing social and life skills within both classroom and residential settings

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience or a passion for working with children or young people with SEN
  • Be patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting the needs of all students
  • Be able to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues alike
