Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Maths instruction tailored to the needs of SEN students.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, including teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff, to provide comprehensive support to students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEN education and Maths instruction.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialization or significant experience in teaching Maths.
  • Proven experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably within an SEN school setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal development of SEN students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
