SEN Primary Teacher

Smile Education is a leading recruitment service for schools in the West Midlands. An educational setting within the Walsall area are currently looking for an experienced special needs teacher to start a long-term position.
The role will consist of teaching KS1 and will be full time from Sep 2024. The successful candidate will be expected to fulfil all aspects of the teaching role including planning, marking, completing reports, parents evening and data entry.

About the role:
· You will be teaching students who have learning difficulties as well as complex needs
· You will be attending to pupils’ personal needs such as hygiene and welfare
· You will be required to effectively plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in line with the school’s curriculum
· You will be required to lead teaching assistants

About the school:
· Primary SEN School specialising with children who have Autism Spectrum condition along with moderate Learning difficulties
· Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school
· Well established team
· Class ratios are between 3-9 students with a minimum of two SEN trained teaching assistants
· This school works closely with 2 speech therapists and an occupational therapist who make regular visits to the school

The successful candidate must have:

• QTS/PGCE Qualification
• 2 Education based references
• A passion for teaching
• Good approach to behaviour management
• A determined, hard-working attitude
