SEN & SEMH Teaching Assistants

Position: SEN & SEMH Teaching Assistant.

Location: Preston, PR4.

Start date: ASAP.

Contract type: Full-time and part-time roles available!

Pay: PAYE Contract, £12.90+ per hour dependant on experience, qualifications and additional duties.

A secondary school in Preston is seeking individuals who have experience supporting students in their learning. If you are passionate about supporting young people, and students who require further development in their learning, then please continue to read!

As a Teaching Assistant specialising in SEN and SEMH, you will need to be resilient, have a good standard of education and good behaviour management skills and be aware of your approach to supporting pupils with additional needs. You will need to possess the skills and attributes to implement strategies and utilise de-escalation techniques to diffuse behavioral issues.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have knowledge of SEN and the safeguarding of children.
  • Have high expectations of student’s behaviour and clear strategies for working with students with challenging behaviour.
  • Can work independently with groups of, or individual, students.
  • Have experience of working with children with SEN and SEMH.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, and preferably students with additional needs.
  • Be comfortable working with children with SEN / SEMH.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willing to apply.
  • Strong work ethic and full-time availability.
