A Specialist School in Chorley (PR7) require multiple Learning Support Workers. The school require staff on short-term and long-term contracts which could be either on a full-time or a part-time basis. The positions have varied start dates, some of the roles are to start as soon as possible and other in November 2024.

The school caters for pupils, aged 4-16, with SEND including, ASD, HI, SLCN and VI, MLD and Complex Needs. Many pupils who attend this school struggle with their speech, language and communication and some do display challenging behaviours. 

Long-term roles available

  • Full-time positions (Monday-Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm).
  • Start date: November 2024.
  • Required to commit to the school on a long-term basis.
  • Interested in securing a permanent role.

Short-term roles available

  • Part-time and/or full-time positions (Varied days, 8.30am-3.30pm).
  • Start date: Varied start dates from as soon as possible.
  • Would be covering emergency/ scheduled absences.

Within all of these roles, as a learning support assistant, you will be expected to create positive relationships with the pupils and encourage positive choices and behaviour. You will be expected to provide general support within the classes and work collaboratively with other LSAs and the class teachers.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
