Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs? An award-winning SEN school group is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join the permanent staff at their independent special school in Gloucestershire. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive and dynamic team committed to providing exceptional education to KS3 students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of KS3 students with a range of special educational needs.
  • Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other professionals.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that fosters student engagement and success.
  • Employing a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Working closely with the SENCO, support staff, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Participating in ongoing professional development and contributing to the wider school community.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialization in SEN preferred.
  • Experience teaching KS3 students in an SEN setting.
  • Strong understanding of various special educational needs and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the individual needs of each student.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
