SEN Teacher Chorley

A specialist provision in the Chorley area (PR7) area is looking to hire an SEN teacher to start in October 2024- ECT’s are encouraged to apply if you have done a placement within a specialist provision or supported children with SEN in a mainstream provision. As an SEN teacher you will need to adapt your planning and teaching to meet the needs of your pupils- whilst differentiating your teaching day to day.

The school

The school are a specialist primary provision based in Chorley (PR7) who supports pupils aged 4-11 who have additional needs and will all have an EHC plan in place to further support their holistic development. The school are wanting somebody full-time who can be placed accordingly to meet the needs of the school at the time- the teacher will need to adapt to a new environment easily, display confidence and be motivated to make a difference to their pupils and the provision. The school are looking for an additional teacher due to the increase in pupil numbers for September.

  • QTS required.
  • Experience teaching in an SEN provision is desirable.
  • Ability to travel to the Chorley area.
  • Flexible work available.
  • Competitive rate of pay (£90-£150 p/d).
  • Start date: October 2024.

The role

Teachers with all different experience should apply as roles in all sectors within SEN are looking to hire additional teaching staff. Experience is required to apply for the roles as the pupils who you will be teaching / supporting all have complex additional needs and someone with experience in dealing with challenging situations, following safeguarding and behavioural plans, EHC plans and designing coping strategies for the pupils is essential for being a successful practitioner within one of these provisions. As a teacher within one of these provisions you will not be following the National Curriculum (2014) you will be supporting your pupils to meet their own specific targets and provide them with essential life skills, this is a main reason why having experience teaching within an SEN provision is essential.
