About the Role:

The successful candidates will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and tailored educational experiences to meet the diverse needs of pupils with PMLD. The roles involve working closely with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists and support staff, to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where all students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver High-Quality Education: Plan and implement individualized learning programs that cater to the unique needs of pupils with PMLD.
  • Promote Inclusive Practices: Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, ensuring all students feel valued and included.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for students.
  • Assessment and Reporting: Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and report on achievements and areas for development.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialization or experience in SEN.
  • Experience: Proven experience working with pupils with PMLD, ideally within a school setting.
  • Skills and Attributes:
    • Strong understanding of PMLD and related educational strategies.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
    • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to promoting student well-being.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Additional SEN Qualifications: Advanced qualifications in SEN or PMLD are highly desirable.
  • Experience with Assistive Technology: Familiarity with communication aids and other assistive technologies used to support pupils with PMLD.
  • Creative Approach: Innovative in developing engaging and meaningful learning experiences.
