At Teaching Personnel we are looking for a driven and passionate Maths specialist to teach and / or tutor for Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at a non-profit independent special school in East of Bath. Mathematics does not have to be your specialism but if you have taught Mathematics we would consider.

This school offers a diverse curriculum with academic, vocational, and outdoor learning to re-engage students in education. Every day is a new beginning, focused on rebuilding confidence, self-esteem, and motivation through a personalized, supportive program. This school operates eight DfE-registered and Ofsted-inspected schools, providing tailored education for young people aged 7-19.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver lessons that accommodate the diverse needs and abilities of students with special educational needs, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet individual learning styles and needs, using a variety of approaches to explain mathematical concepts.
  • Regularly assess and monitor students' progress, using both formative and summative assessments, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Work closely with support staff, therapists, and other professionals to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that align with each student's learning goals.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers, providing updates on progress and involving them in their child's learning journey.
  • Provide emotional support to students, helping them develop confidence, self-esteem, and social skills alongside their academic learning.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and promotes equality, ensuring all students feel valued and supported.

The successful educator will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Teaching Qualifications but not necessarily QTS. (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Experience teaching Maths
  • Experience working with SEN.
  • A passion for children’s social and emotional wellbeing.
  • Flexibility to meet pupils needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
