A highly reputable and inclusive SEN school group is seeking a passionate and experienced SEMH Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis at their Stockport site. This is a unique opportunity for a committed individual to make a significant impact on the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH.
  • Use innovative teaching strategies and behaviour management techniques to promote positive learning outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, support staff, parents, and external professionals to provide a holistic approach to each student's development.
  • Contribute to a positive school ethos that promotes emotional resilience, self-confidence, and social skills.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, using appropriate interventions to ensure each child is supported academically, socially, and emotionally.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs, ideally in a SEN or alternative provision setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH and related SEND conditions, and how they impact learning and behaviour.
  • Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour in a calm, consistent manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners and helping them succeed.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs and promote an inclusive learning environment.

Desirable:

  • Additional qualifications or training in SEMH, behaviour management, or other relevant areas.
  • Experience working in a multi-agency setting.
