Are you a passionate educator ready to inspire and support students in their learning journey? We are seeking a dedicated SEN teacher (primary or secondary) for a permanent full time role within a fantastic specialist setting in Guildford.

The school provides education for children from 3-19 with a range of severe and complex learning disabilities and profound and multiple learning disabilities (including complex medical needs).  A very high proportion of pupils also have a diagnosis of ASD as well as additional complex needs. They use a range of evidenced teaching approaches and strategies at different stages of learning that reflect the way their pupils learn.  Our classes are structured to promote communication, emotional regulation, self-help and independence. Our staff have expert knowledge in specialist strategies including TEACCH, Attention Autism, PECS, Bricks for Autism and Intensive Interaction.

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of all students, including those with SEN/SEMH.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and parents to support student development.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (role is also open to ECTs/NQTs)
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum.
  • Experience working in mainstream or SEN/SEMH settings is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
