Teaching Personnel are working with an SEN school based in Frome who are currently recruiting for a Teacher to cover a maternity post. 

The school provides education for approximately 80 pupils who have complex and severe learning needs. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan and they have a very wide range of abilities within their pupil population. Each pupil’s needs is carefully and individually evaluated, so that within the context of our well-developed and profoundly personalised curriculum, all of their pupils can aspire to reach exceptional standards.

 

The role - 

  • Working in a class size of 11 pupils, 4x Yr 10 pupils and 7x Yr 11 pupils. 
  • All pupils have learning and cognition needs to varying degrees and are working towards their personalised curriculum rather than being assessed against the national curriculum. 

  • Diagnosees within the class include ASC, GDD, Down's Syndrome, and other syndromes associated with learning delays. 

     

  • 3 pupils are non-verbal.

  • Up to 4 pupils may undertake Entry Level Functional Skills qualifications.

 

This role is to start ASAP and the school are looking for an enthusiastic Teacher to work with these pupils. There will be support within the class.
