An esteemed independent SEN secondary school in Towcester, Silverstone, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher/Tutor to join their permanent team from January 2025 or sooner. This highly reputable institution offers a nurturing and supportive environment for students with Special Educational Needs, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive academically and personally.

Position Details:

  • Location: Towcester, Silverstone
  • Start Date: January 2025 or earlier
  • Contract: Permanent, full-time
  • Salary: £25,410 - £38,520 per annum (dependent on relevant qualifications and experience) plus SEN allowance and additional benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality teaching and support to students with a range of Special Educational Needs
  • Tailoring lesson plans and resources to meet individual learning needs
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters confidence, growth, and academic progress
  • Supporting the holistic development of students, encouraging independence and self-confidence
  • Collaborating with the wider teaching and support teams to ensure effective delivery of individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Regularly assessing and reporting on students' progress to parents, carers, and relevant stakeholders
  • Participating in ongoing professional development to maintain up-to-date SEN teaching strategies and practices

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Proven experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Flexibility, patience, and resilience in meeting the varied needs of SEN students
  • A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people with additional needs
  • Knowledge of SEN teaching techniques, including differentiated instruction and behavioural management strategies
  • Additional SEN qualifications or training would be an advantage, but not essential
