The Role: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team from September 2024. In this full-time role, you will be working closely with students who have special educational needs (SEN) across both our secondary school and further education centre. Your role will be vital in supporting these students in their academic, social, and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other personalised learning strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students in their social and emotional well-being, helping them to build confidence and independence.
  • Adapt teaching materials and methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
  • Contribute to the overall positive ethos of the school and further education centre.

About You:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN is essential.
  • A passion for supporting young people and helping them to achieve their potential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to working with students with a range of needs.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to professional development and a willingness to engage in ongoing training.
