Position Overview:
As a 1:1 Medical Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to a Year 2 pupil with medical requirements, ensuring they receive the care and assistance needed to thrive in an educational setting. Your role will involve collaborating with the class teacher and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to the pupil with medical needs, assisting with personal care and any medical procedures as required.
  • Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials to suit the pupil's specific needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to facilitate classroom activities and ensure the pupil is fully engaged and supported.
  • Monitor and report on the pupil’s progress, health, and well-being, communicating effectively with teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere that empowers the pupil to develop independence and confidence.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly in a 1:1 capacity or with medical needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in health care, education, or child development (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable, with a genuine commitment to supporting pupils with diverse needs.
  • Knowledge of specific medical conditions and appropriate support strategies is advantageous.
