Summary: The Head of a specialist school in Cwmbran is looking to appoint an experienced Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their successful and friendly team. You will be asked to support children with profound and multiple learning difficulties. Assisting with their day to day routine and keeping them engaged throughout the day. The hours are 8:30am-3:30pm and pay will be based entirely on experience, often ranging from £60.00 - £70.00 a day.
The school: The school caters for pupils aged 3-19 with complex physical and sensory impairments. It will be your role as the complex needs teaching assistant to support pupils to access a highly bespoke and tailored curriculum. You must have experience of supporting young people or adults with physical disabilities and/or additional needs. You will be comfortable providing personal care and ideally will possess a Moving and Handling or Team Teach certificate (although this training can be provided).
As a complex needs teaching assistant you will have a holistic and person centred approach and the flexibility to address and respond to social, emotional and personal needs. You will have excellent communication skills and the desire to improve learning experiences for those with additional needs in a specialist setting.
