SEN Teaching Assistant Needed in Bramhall!

Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in their academic and personal development? Teaching Personnel is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Bramhall as an SEN Teaching Assistant.

Role Overview: As a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support to students with a range of special educational needs, ensuring that they have equal access to learning opportunities and can reach their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the school's SENCO and other staff members to identify the specific needs of students with SEN, including but not limited to Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language difficulties.
  • Providing one-on-one support to students, helping them to understand and engage with classroom activities, develop key skills, and build confidence in their abilities.
  • Assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs) for students with SEN, tailoring support strategies to meet their individual needs.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to create inclusive learning environments that promote the social, emotional, and academic development of all students.
  • Monitoring students' progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers, ensuring that interventions are effective and appropriately adjusted as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach when supporting students with diverse needs and abilities.
  • The ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs of students, using creative and innovative approaches to facilitate their learning.
  • A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of students with SEN.
